Surah An-Naba

عَمَّ يَتَسَا࢜ءَلُوْنَ ۝١ۚ

1What is it that they are questioning each other about?!

عَنِ النَّبَاِ الْعَظِيْمِ ۝٢ۙ

2[Is it] about the Great Tiding,

الَّذِيْ هُمْ فِيْهِ مُخْتَلِفُوْنَ ۝٣ؕ

3the one about which they differ?

كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُوْنَ ۝٤ۙ

4No indeed! Soon they will know!

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُوْنَ ۝٥

5No indeed! Soon they will know for once again!

اَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْاَرْضَ مِهٰدًا ۝٦ۙ

6Did We not make the earth a resting place?

وَّالْجِبَالَ اَوْتَادًا ۝٧ࣕۙ

7and the mountains stakes?

وَّخَلَقْنٰكُمْ اَزْوَاجًا ۝٨ۙ

8and create you in pairs?

وَّجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا ۝٩ۙ

9and make your sleep for rest?

وَّجَعَلْنَا الَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا ۝١٠ۙ

10and make the night a covering?

وَّجَعَلْنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا ۝١١ࣕ

11and make the day for livelihood?

وَّبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا ۝١٢ۙ

12and build above you the seven mighty heavens?

وَّجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَّهَّاجًا ۝١٣ࣕۙ

13and make [the sun for] a radiant lamp?

وَّاَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ الْمُعْصِرٰتِ مَا࢜ءً ثَجَّاجًا ۝١٤ۙ

14and send down water pouring from the rain-clouds,

لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهٖ حَبًّا وَّنَبَاتًا ۝١٥ۙ

15that We may bring forth with it grains and plants,

وَّجَنّٰتٍ اَلْفَافًا ۝١٦ؕ

16and luxuriant gardens?

اِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيْقَاتًا ۝١٧ۙ

17Indeed the Day of Judgement is the tryst,

يَّوْمَ يُنْفَخُ فِي الصُّوْرِ فَتَاْتُوْنَ اَفْوَاجًا ۝١٨ۙ

18the day the Trumpet will be blown, and you will come in groups,

وَّفُتِحَتِ السَّمَا࢜ءُ فَكَانَتْ اَبْوَابًا ۝١٩ۙ

19and the sky will be opened and become gates,

وَّسُيِّرَتِ الْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا ۝٢٠ؕ

20and the mountains will be set moving and become a mirage.

اِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا ۝٢١ࣕۙ

21Indeed hell is in ambush,

لِّلطَّاغِيْنَ مَاٰبًا ۝٢٢ۙ

22a resort for the rebels,

لّٰبِثِيْنَ فِيْهَا͏ٓ اَحْقَابًا ۝٢٣ۚ

23to reside therein for ages,

لَا يَذُوْقُوْنَ فِيْهَا بَرْدًا وَّلَا شَرَابًا ۝٢٤ۙ

24tasting in it neither any coolness nor drink,

اِلَّا حَمِيْمًا وَّغَسَّاقًا ۝٢٥ۙ

25except boiling water and pus,

جَزَا࢜ءً وِّفَاقًا ۝٢٦ؕ

26a fitting requital.

اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا لَا يَرْجُوْنَ حِسَابًا ۝٢٧ۙ

27Indeed they did not expect any reckoning,

وَّكَذَّبُوْا بِاٰيٰتِنَا كِذَّابًا ۝٢٨ؕ

28and they denied Our signs mendaciously,

وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ اَحْصَيْنٰهُ كِتٰبًا ۝٢٩ۙ

29and We have figured everything in a Book.

فَذُوْقُوْا فَلَنْ نَّزِيْدَكُمْ اِلَّا عَذَابًا ۝٣٠ࣖ

30So [now] taste! We shall increase you in nothing but punishment!

اِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَ مَفَازًا ۝٣١ۙ

31Indeed a triumph awaits the Godwary:

حَدَا࢜ىِٕقَ وَاَعْنَابًا ۝٣٢ۙ

32gardens and vineyards,

وَّكَوَاعِبَ اَتْرَابًا ۝٣٣ۙ

33and buxom maidens of a like age,

وَّكَاْسًا دِهَاقًا ۝٣٤ؕ

34and brimming cups.

لَا يَسْمَعُوْنَ فِيْهَا لَغْوًا وَّلَا كِذّٰبًا ۝٣٥ۚ

35Therein they shall hear neither vain talk nor lies

جَزَا࢜ءً مِّنْ رَّبِّكَ عَطَا࢜ءً حِسَابًا ۝٣٦ۙ

36—a reward and a sufficing bounty from your Lord,

رَّبِّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الرَّحْمٰنِ لَا يَمْلِكُوْنَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا ۝٣٧ۚ

37the All-beneficent, the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. They will not be able to address Him

يَوْمَ يَقُوْمُ الرُّوْحُ وَالْمَلٰ࢜ىِٕكَةُ صَفًّاؕࣗۙ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُوْنَ اِلَّا مَنْ اَذِنَ لَهُ الرَّحْمٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا ۝٣٨

38on the day when the Spirit and the angels stand in an array: none shall speak except someone who is permitted by the All-beneficent and says what is rightful.

ذٰلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الْحَقُّۚ فَمَنْ شَا࢜ءَ اتَّخَذَ اِلٰي رَبِّهٖ مَاٰبًا ۝٣٩

39That day is true for certain. So let anyone who wishes take resort with his Lord.

اِنَّا͏ٓ اَنْذَرْنٰكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيْبًا࣢ۚۖ يَّوْمَ يَنْظُرُ الْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدٰهُ وَيَقُوْلُ الْكٰفِرُ يٰلَيْتَنِيْ كُنْتُ تُرٰبًا ۝٤٠ࣖ

40Indeed We have warned you of a punishment near at hand—the day when a person will observe what his hands have sent ahead and the faithless one will say, ‘I wish I were dust!’
