Surah Al-Mursalaat

وَالْمُرْسَلٰتِ عُرْفًا ۝١ۙ

1By the [angelic] emissaries sent successively,

فَالْعٰصِفٰتِ عَصْفًا ۝٢ۙ

2by those who sweep along like gale,

وَّالنّٰشِرٰتِ نَشْرًا ۝٣ۙ

3by those who publish [the Divine messages] far and wide,

فَالْفٰرِقٰتِ فَرْقًا ۝٤ۙ

4by those who separate [the truth from falsehood] distinctly,

فَالْمُلْقِيٰتِ ذِكْرًا ۝٥ۙ

5by those who inspire [God’s] remembrance,

عُذْرًا اَوْ نُذْرًا ۝٦ۙ

6as exemption or warning:

اِنَّمَا تُوْعَدُوْنَ لَوَاقِعٌ ۝٧ؕ

7what you are promised will surely befall.

فَاِذَا النُّجُوْمُ طُمِسَتْ ۝٨ۙ

8When the stars are blotted out

وَاِذَا السَّمَا࢜ءُ فُرِجَتْ ۝٩ۙ

9and the sky is cleft,

وَاِذَا الْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ ۝١٠ۙ

10when the mountains are scattered [like dust]

وَاِذَا الرُّسُلُ اُقِّتَتْ ۝١١ؕ

11and time is set for the apostles [to bear witness]

لِاَيِّ يَوْمٍ اُجِّلَتْ ۝١٢ؕ

12—for what day has [all] that been set [to occur]?

لِيَوْمِ الْفَصْلِ ۝١٣ۚ

13For the Day of Judgement!

وَمَا͏ٓ اَدْرٰىكَ مَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ ۝١٤ؕ

14And what will show you what is the Day of Judgement!?

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ ۝١٥

15Woe to the deniers on that day!

اَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ ۝١٦ؕ

16Did We not destroy the former generations,

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ الْاٰخِرِيْنَ ۝١٧

17[and] then made the latter ones follow them?

كَذٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِيْنَ ۝١٨

18That is how We deal with the guilty.

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ ۝١٩

19Woe to the deniers on that day!

اَلَمْ نَخْلُقْكُّمْ مِّنْ مَّا࢜ءٍ مَّهِيْنٍ ۝٢٠ۙ

20Have We not created you from a base fluid,

فَجَعَلْنٰهُ فِيْ قَرَارٍ مَّكِيْنٍ ۝٢١ۙ

21[and] then lodged it in a secure abode

اِلٰي قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُوْمٍ ۝٢٢ۙ

22until a known span [of time]?

فَقَدَرْنَاࣗۖ فَنِعْمَ الْقٰدِرُوْنَ ۝٢٣

23Then We determined; and how excellent determiners We are!

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ ۝٢٤

24Woe to the deniers on that day!

اَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْاَرْضَ كِفَاتًا ۝٢٥ۙ

25Have We not made the earth a receptacle

اَحْيَا࢜ءً وَّاَمْوَاتًا ۝٢٦ۙ

26for the living and the dead,

وَّجَعَلْنَا فِيْهَا رَوَاسِيَ شٰمِخٰتٍ وَّاَسْقَيْنٰكُمْ مَّا࢜ءً فُرَاتًا ۝٢٧ؕ

27and set in it lofty [and] firm mountains, and given you agreeable water to drink?

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ ۝٢٨

28Woe to the deniers on that day!

اِنْطَلِقُوْٓا اِلٰي مَا كُنْتُمْ بِهٖ تُكَذِّبُوْنَ ۝٢٩ۚ

29[The faithless will be told:] ‘Proceed toward what you used to deny!

اِنْطَلِقُوْٓا اِلٰي ظِلٍّ ذِيْ ثَلٰثِ شُعَبٍ ۝٣٠ۙ

30Proceed toward the triple-forked shadow,

لَّا ظَلِيْلٍ وَّلَا يُغْنِيْ مِنَ اللَّهَبِ ۝٣١ؕ

31neither shady nor of any avail against the flames.

اِنَّهَا تَرْمِيْ بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِ ۝٣٢ۚ

32Indeed it throws up [giant] sparks like castles,

كَاَنَّهٗ جِمٰلَتٌ صُفْرٌ ۝٣٣ؕ

33[bright] like yellow camels.

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ ۝٣٤

34Woe to the deniers on that day!

هٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنْطِقُوْنَ ۝٣٥ۙ

35This is a day wherein they will not speak,

وَلَا يُو͏ٔ͏ْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُوْنَ ۝٣٦

36nor will they be permitted to offer excuses.

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ ۝٣٧

37Woe to the deniers on that day!

هٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِۚ جَمَعْنٰكُمْ وَالْاَوَّلِيْنَ ۝٣٨

38‘This is the Day of Judgement. We have brought you together with the former generations.

فَاِنْ كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيْدُوْنِ ۝٣٩

39If you have any stratagems [left], try them out against Me!’

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ ۝٤٠ࣖ

40Woe to the deniers on that day!

اِنَّ الْمُتَّقِيْنَ فِيْ ظِلٰلٍ وَّعُيُوْنٍ ۝٤١ۙ

41Indeed the Godwary will be amid shades and springs

وَّفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُوْنَ ۝٤٢ؕ

42and [enjoying] such fruits as they desire.

كُلُوْا وَاشْرَبُوْا هَنِيْ࢜ـًٔاۢ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ ۝٤٣

43[They will be told:] ‘Enjoy your food and drink, [a reward] for what you used to do.

اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ ۝٤٤

44Thus do We reward the virtuous.’

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ ۝٤٥

45Woe to the deniers on that day!

كُلُوْا وَتَمَتَّعُوْا قَلِيْلًا اِنَّكُمْ مُّجْرِمُوْنَ ۝٤٦

46‘Eat and enjoy a little! You are indeed guilty.’

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ ۝٤٧

47Woe to the deniers on that day!

وَاِذَا قِيْلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوْا لَا يَرْكَعُوْنَ ۝٤٨

48When they are told, ‘Bow down [in prayer],’ they do not bow down!

وَيْلٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ ۝٤٩

49Woe to the deniers on that day!

فَبِاَيِّ حَدِيْثٍۭ بَعْدَهٗ يُو͏ٔ͏ْمِنُوْنَ ۝٥٠ࣖ

50So what discourse will they believe after this?
