Surah Al-Ghaashiya

هَلْ اَتٰىكَ حَدِيْثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ ۝١ؕ

1Did you receive the account of the Enveloper?

وُجُوْهٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ ۝٢ۙ

2Some faces on that day will be humbled,

عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ ۝٣ۙ

3wrought-up and weary:

تَصْلٰي نَارًا حَامِيَةً ۝٤ۙ

4they will enter a scorching fire

تُسْقٰي مِنْ عَيْنٍ اٰنِيَةٍ ۝٥ؕ

5and made to drink from a boiling spring.

لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ اِلَّا مِنْ ضَرِيْعٍ ۝٦ۙ

6They will have no food except cactus,

لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِيْ مِنْ جُوْعٍ ۝٧ؕ

7neither nourishing, nor of avail against hunger.

وُجُوْهٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ ۝٨ۙ

8Some faces on that day will be joyous,

لِّسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ ۝٩ۙ

9pleased with their endeavour,

فِيْ جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ ۝١٠ۙ

10in a lofty garden,

لَّا تَسْمَعُ فِيْهَا لَاغِيَةً ۝١١ؕ

11where they will not hear any vain talk.

فِيْهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ ۝١٢ۘ

12In it is a flowing spring

فِيْهَا سُرُرٌ مَّرْفُوْعَةٌ ۝١٣ۙ

13and raised couches,

وَّاَكْوَابٌ مَّوْضُوْعَةٌ ۝١٤ۙ

14with goblets set,

وَّنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوْفَةٌ ۝١٥ۙ

15and cushions laid out in an array,

وَّزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوْثَةٌ ۝١٦ؕ

16and carpets spread out.

اَفَلَا يَنْظُرُوْنَ اِلَي الْاِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ ۝١٧ࣟ

17Do they not observe the camel, [to see] how it has been created?

وَاِلَي السَّمَا࢜ءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ ۝١٨ࣟ

18and the sky, how it has been raised?

وَاِلَي الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ ۝١٩ࣟ

19and the mountains, how they have been set?

وَاِلَي الْاَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ ۝٢٠ࣟ

20and the earth, how it has been surfaced?

فَذَكِّرْࣞؕ اِنَّمَا͏ٓ اَنْتَ مُذَكِّرٌ ۝٢١ؕ

21So admonish—for you are only an admonisher,

لَسْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمُصَۜيْطِرٍ ۝٢٢ۙ

22and not a taskmaster over them—

اِلَّا مَنْ تَوَلّٰي وَكَفَرَ ۝٢٣ۙ

23except him who turns back and disbelieves.

فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللّٰهُ الْعَذَابَ الْاَكْبَرَ ۝٢٤ؕ

24Him Allah will punish with the greatest punishment.

اِنَّ اِلَيْنَا͏ٓ اِيَابَهُمْ ۝٢٥ۙ

25Indeed to Us will be their return.

ثُمَّ اِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ ۝٢٦ࣖ

26Then, indeed, their reckoning will lie with Us.
