سُورَةُ الضُّحَىٰ
Surah Ad-Dhuhaa
The Morning Hours · Meccan · 11 Ayahs
وَالضُّحٰي ١ۙ
1By the morning brightness,
وَالَّيْلِ اِذَا سَجٰي ٢ۙ
2and by the night when it is calm!
مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلٰي ٣ؕ
3Your Lord has neither forsaken you, nor is He displeased with you,
وَلَلْاٰخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَّكَ مِنَ الْاُوْلٰي ٤ؕ
4and the Hereafter shall be better for you than the world.
وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيْكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضٰي ٥ؕ
5Soon your Lord will give you [that with which] you will be pleased.
اَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيْمًا فَاٰوٰي ٦ࣕ
6Did He not find you an orphan, and shelter you?
وَوَجَدَكَ ضَا࢜لًّا فَهَدٰي ٧ࣕ
7Did He not find you astray, and guide you?
وَوَجَدَكَ عَا࢜ىِٕلًا فَاَغْنٰي ٨ؕ
8Did He not find you needy, and enrich you?
فَاَمَّا الْيَتِيْمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ ٩ؕ
9So, as for the orphan, do not oppress him;
وَاَمَّا السَّا࢜ىِٕلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ ١٠ؕ
10and as for the beggar, do not chide him;
وَاَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ ١١ࣖ
11and as for your Lord’s blessing, proclaim it!
