Surah At-Taariq
The Morning Star · Meccan · 17 Ayahs
1By the heaven, and by the nightly visitor
2(and what will show you what is the nightly visitor?
3It is the brilliant star):
4there is a guard over every soul.
5So let man consider from what he was created.
6He was created from an effusing fluid
7which issues from between the loins and the breast-bones.
8Indeed He is able to bring him back [after death],
9on the day when the secrets are examined
10and he shall have neither power nor helper.
11By the resurgent heaven,
12and by the furrowed earth:
13it is indeed a conclusive discourse,
14and not a jest.
15Indeed they are devising a stratagem,
16and I [too] am devising a plan.
17So respite the faithless; give them a gentle respite.
