Monday Dua (Syeda Fatima A.S)

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ قُوَّةً فِي عِبَادَتِكَ

Allāhumma innī as'aluka quwwatan fī ʿibādatik

O God, I ask You for the strength to worship (You),

وَتَبَصُّرًا فِي كِتَابِكَ

Wa tabaṣṣuran fī kitābik

insight of book (Quran),

وَفَهْمًا فِي حُكْمِكَ

Wa fahman fī ḥukmik

cognizance of religious laws

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad

O Allah, bless Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad

وَلَا تَجْعَلِ الْقُرْآنَ بِنَا مَاحِلًا وَالصِّرَاطَ زَائِلًا

Wa lā tajʿali l-qur'āna binā māḥilan wa ṣ-ṣirāṭa zā'ilan

and do not make the Quran distant from us and the Siraat as downfall for us

"māḥilan" carries the sense of the Quran turning into an adversary/plaintiff against the reciter on Judgment Day, rather than simple distance.

وَمُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ عَنَّا مُوَلِّيًا

Wa muḥammadan ṣallā llāhu ʿalayhi wa ālihi ʿannā muwalliyan

and His Eminence, Muhammad as one, who turns away from us.
