وَكَمْ اَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِّنْ قَرْنٍ هُمْ اَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوْا فِي الْبِلَادِؕ هَلْ مِنْ مَّحِيْصٍ ٣٦
How many generations We have destroyed before them, who were stronger than these, insomuch that they ransacked the towns?! So, is there any escape [from Allah’s punishment]?
Biz onlardan (Məkkə müşriklərindən) əvvəl özlərindən daha qüvvətli neçə-neçə nəsilləri məhv etdik. (Onlar:) “Görəsən, (ölümdən qaçıb) can qurtarmağa bir yer varmı?” (deyərək) ölkə-ölkə gəzib dolaşmışdılar.
و چه بسیار اقوامی را که پیش از آنان هلاک کردیم که از آنان نیرومندتر بودند، و [با نیرویشان] به سرزمین ها رفتند [و آنها را فتح کردند]، آیا توانستند [از عذاب و هلاکت] گریزگاهی بیابند؟
اور ان سے پہلے ہم نے کتنی ہی قوموں کو ہلاک کردیا ہے جو ان سے کہیں زیادہ طاقتور تھیں تو انہوں نے تمام شہروں کو چھان مارا تھا لیکن موت سے چھٹکارا کہاں ہے
