سُورَةُ المَسَدِ
Surah Al-Masad
The Palm Fibre · Meccan · 5 Ayahs
تَبَّتْ يَدَا͏ٓ اَبِيْ لَهَبٍ وَّتَبَّ ١ؕ
1Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he!
مَا͏ٓ اَغْنٰي عَنْهُ مَالُهٗ وَمَا كَسَبَ ٢ؕ
2Neither his wealth availed him, nor what he had earned.
سَيَصْلٰي نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ ٣ۚۖ
3Soon he will enter the blazing fire,
وَّامْرَاَتُهٗؕ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ ٤ۚ
4and his wife [too], the firewood carrier,
فِيْ جِيْدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّنْ مَّسَدٍ ٥ࣖ
5with a rope of palm fibre around her neck.
