    Bismillāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī lahu min kulli nafsin mina l-anfāsi wa khaṭratin mina l-khaṭarāti minnā minanun lā tuḥṣā

Praise be to Allah, to Whom belong, from every breath we breathe and every passing thought that crosses us, favors beyond counting,

and in every moment of our moments, blessings that cannot be forgotten, and in every state of our states, a bounty that cannot be hidden.

wa subḥāna llāhi alladhī yaqharu l-qawiyya wa yanṣuru ḍ-ḍaʿīfa wa yajburu l-kasīra wa yughni l-faqīra

And glory be to Allah, Who subdues the strong, aids the weak, mends the broken, and enriches the poor,

wa yaqbalu l-yasīra wa yuʿṭi l-kathīra, wa huwa ʿalā kulli shay'in qadīrun

and accepts the little and gives the much; and He has power over all things.

    wa lā ilāha illā llāhu s-sābighu n-niʿmati l-bālighu l-ḥikmati d-dāmighu l-ḥujjati l-wāsiʿu r-raḥmati l-māniḥu l-ʿiṣmati

And there is no god but Allah, the Abundant in blessing, the Consummate in wisdom, the Overwhelming in proof, the Vast in mercy, the Granter of protection.

    wa llāhu akbaru dhu s-sulṭāni l-manīʿi wal-bunyāni r-rafīʿi wal-inshā'i l-badīʿi wal-ḥisābi s-sarīʿi

And Allah is the Greatest, Possessor of impregnable authority, the elevated edifice, the wondrous creation, and the swift reckoning.

wa ṣalla llāhu ʿalā muḥammadin khayri n-nabiyyīna wa ālihi ṭ-ṭāhirīna wa sallama taslīman

And may Allah bless Muhammad, the best of the prophets, and his pure Household, and grant them abundant peace.

    Allāhumma innī as'aluka su'āla l-khā'ifi min waqfihi l-mawqifa l-wajili mina l-ʿarḍi l-mushfiqi mina l-khashyati

O Allah, I ask You with the asking of one who fears his standing before You, who dreads the presentation of his deeds, and who is anxious from awe,

    libawā'iqi l-qiyāmati l-ma'khūdhi ʿalā l-ghirrati n-nādimi ʿalā khaṭī'atihi l-mas'ūli l-muḥāsabi l-muthābi l-muʿāqabi

    [fearing] the calamities of the Resurrection — one seized while heedless, remorseful over his sin, questioned, called to account, rewarded, and punished;

alladhī lam yakinnahu makānun ʿanka wa lā wajada mafarran illā ilayka mutanaṣṣilan multaji'an min sayyi'i ʿamalihi

one whom no place can shelter from You, and who finds no escape except toward You, seeking to disavow and take refuge from his evil deeds,

muqirran biʿaẓīmi dhunūbihi, qad aḥāṭat bihi l-humūmu wa ḍāqat ʿalayhi raḥā'ibu t-tukhūmi

confessing his grave sins, while anxieties have encircled him and the vast expanses of the earth have narrowed upon him,

mūqinun bil-mawti mubādirun bit-tawbati qabla l-fawti in mananta bihā ʿalayhi wa ʿafawta

certain of death, hastening to repentance before it is too late — if You favor him with it and pardon him.

    fa-anta ilāhī rajā'ī idhā ḍāqa ʿannī r-rajā'u wa malja'ī idh lam ajid finā'an lil-iltijā'i

For You, my God, are my hope when hope narrows for me, and my refuge when I find no courtyard to take shelter in.

    tawaḥḥadta sayyidī bil-ʿizzi wal-ʿalā'i wa tafarradta bil-waḥdāniyyati wal-baqā'i

You are singular, my Master, in might and exaltation, and unique in oneness and permanence.

fa-anta l-mutaʿazzizu l-mutafarridu bil-majdi, falaka rabbiya l-ḥamdu, lā yuwārī minka makānun wa lā yughayyiruka dahrun wa lā zamānun

So You are the All-Mighty, unique in glory; therefore, to You, my Lord, belongs all praise. No place conceals anything from You, and no age or time changes You.

allafta biqudratika l-firaqa wa falaqta biqudratika l-falaqa wa anarta bikaramika dayājiya l-ghasaqi

By Your power You joined together what was separate, by Your power You cleaved the daybreak, and by Your generosity You lit up the darknesses of night.

wa ajrayta mina ṣ-ṣummi ṣ-ṣayākhīdi ʿadhban wa furātan wa ahmarta mina l-muʿṣirāti mā'an thajjājan

And from hard, solid rocks You made sweet, fresh water flow, and from the rain-clouds You poured down water in torrents.

    wa jaʿalta sh-shamsa lil-bariyyati sirājan wahhājan wal-qamara wan-nujūma abrājan

You made the sun a blazing lamp for creation, and the moon and the stars as constellations,

min ghayri an tumārisa fīmā btada'ta lughūban wa lā ʿilājan

without experiencing, in what You originated, any weariness or any exertion.

wa anta ilāhu kulli shay'in wa khāliquhu wa jabbāru kulli makhlūqin wa rāziquhu

And You are the God of everything and its Creator, the Compeller of every creature and its Provider.

fal-ʿazīzu man aʿzazta wadh-dhalīlu man adhlalta was-saʿīdu man asʿadta wash-shaqiyyu man ashqayta

So the mighty is he whom You have made mighty, the abased is he whom You have abased, the happy is he whom You have made happy, and the wretched is he whom You have made wretched.

al-ghaniyyu man aghnayta wal-faqīru man afqarta

The rich is he whom You have enriched, and the poor is he whom You have impoverished.

anta waliyyī wa mawlāya wa ʿalayka rizqī wa biyadika nāṣiyatī

You are my Guardian and my Master; upon You depends my provision, and in Your hand is my forelock.

fa-ṣalli ʿalā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammadin wafʿal bī mā anta ahluhu

So bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, and deal with me in the manner worthy of You,

wa ʿud bifaḍlika ʿalā ʿabdin ghamarahu jahluhu wastawlā ʿalayhi t-taswīfu

and return with Your bounty to a servant whom his ignorance has overwhelmed and whom procrastination has mastered,

    ḥattā sālama l-ayyāma fartakaba l-maḥārima wal-āthāma

until he made peace with the [worldly] days and so committed forbidden things and sins.

fajʿalnī sayyidī ʿabdan yafzaʿu ila t-tawbati fa-innahā mafzaʿu l-mudhnibīna

So make me, my Master, a servant who takes refuge in repentance, for it is the refuge of sinners,

wa aghninī bijūdika l-wāsiʿi ʿani l-makhlūqīna wa lā tukhrijnī ilā shirāri l-ʿālamīna

and enrich me by Your vast bounty so that I am independent of created beings, and do not cast me out to the worst of the worlds.

wa hab lī ʿafwaka fī mawqifi yawmi d-dīni fa-innaka arḥamu r-rāḥimīna wa ajwadu l-ajwadīna wa akramu l-akramīna

And grant me Your pardon at the station of the Day of Judgment, for You are the Most Merciful of the merciful, the Most Generous of the generous, and the Most Noble of the noble.

    yā man lahu l-asmā'u l-ḥusnā wal-amthālu l-ʿulyā jabbāru s-samāwāti wal-araḍīna

O He to Whom belong the most beautiful names and the loftiest likenesses, the Compeller of the heavens and the earths,

ilayka qaṣadtu rājiyan falā tarudda yadī ʿan saniyyi mawāhibika ṣifran

to You I have turned, hoping, so do not turn back my hand empty from the splendor of Your gifts.

innaka jawādun mifḍālun, yā ra'ūfan bil-ʿibādi wa man huwa lahum bil-mirṣādi

Indeed, You are Generous, Most Bountiful. O You who are Compassionate to the servants, and who are ever watchful over them,

as'aluka an tuṣalliya ʿalā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammadin wa an tujzila thawābī wa tuḥsina ma'ābī

I ask You to bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, and to make my reward abundant, and to make my return excellent,

wa tastura ʿuyūbī wa taghfira dhunūbī wa tunqidhanī mawlāya bifaḍlika min alīmi l-ʿiqābi

and to cover my faults, and forgive my sins, and rescue me, my Master, by Your grace, from the painful punishment.

innaka jawādun karīmun wahhābun, faqad alqatni s-sayyi'ātu wal-ḥasanātu bayna thawābin wa ʿiqābin

Indeed, You are Generous, Noble, Ever-Bestowing; for my evil deeds and good deeds have cast me between reward and punishment.

faqad rajawtu an takūna bilutfika tataghammadu ʿabdaka l-muqirra bifawādiḥi l-ʿuyūbi

I have hoped that, by Your kindness, You will envelop Your servant who confesses to grievous faults,

bijūdika wa karamika yā ghāfira dh-dhunūbi wa taṣfaḥu ʿan zalalihi

by Your generosity and nobility, O Forgiver of sins, and that You overlook his slips.

falaysa lī sayyidī rabbun artajīhi ghayruka wa lā ilāha as'aluhu jabra fāqatī wa maskanatī siwāka

For I have, my Master, no Lord to hope in other than You, and no god to ask to mend my need and my destitution besides You.

falā taruddanī minka bil-khaybati yā muqīla l-ʿatharāti wa kāshifa l-kurubāti

So do not send me back from You in disappointment, O Pardoner of stumbles and Remover of distresses.

ilāhī fasurranī fa-innī lastu bi-awwali man sarartahu, yā waliyya n-niʿami wa shadīda n-niqami

My God, so make me glad, for I am not the first whom You have made glad, O Master of blessings and Severe in retribution,

wa dā'ima l-majdi wal-karami, wakhṣuṣnī minka bimaghfiratin lā yuqārinuhā shaqā'un wa saʿādatin lā yudānīhā adhan

and Everlasting in glory and generosity; and single me out from Yourself with a forgiveness that no wretchedness accompanies, and a happiness that no harm comes near.

wa alhimnī tuqāka wa maḥabbataka wa jannibnī mūbiqāti maʿṣiyatika

And inspire me with fear of You and love of You, and keep me away from the destructive acts of disobeying You,

wa lā tajʿal lin-nāri ʿalayya sulṭānan, innaka ahlu t-taqwā wa ahlu l-maghfirati

and do not give the Fire any authority over me; indeed, You are worthy of being feared and worthy of granting forgiveness.

wa qad daʿawtuka wa takaffalta bil-ijābati falā tukhayyib sā'ilaka wa lā takhdhul ṭālibaka

I have called upon You, and You have guaranteed the response, so do not disappoint the one who asks of You, nor forsake the one who seeks from You,

wa lā tarudda āmilaka yā khayra ma'mūlin wa as'aluka bira'fatika wa raḥmatika wa fardāniyyatika wa rubūbiyyatika

and do not turn away the one who hopes in You, O Best of those in whom hope is placed. I ask You by Your compassion, Your mercy, Your uniqueness, and Your Lordship,

yā man huwa ʿalā kulli shay'in qadīrun wa bikulli shay'in muḥīṭun

O He who has power over all things and encompasses all things,

fakfinī mā ahammanī min amri dunyāya wa ākhiratī fa-innaka samīʿu d-duʿā'i laṭīfun limā tashā'u

So suffice me in what concerns me of the affairs of my world and my Hereafter, for You are the Hearer of supplication, Gentle to whatever You will.

wa adrijnī fī daraji man awjabta lahu ḥulūla dāri karāmatika maʿa aṣfiyā'ika wa ahli khtiṣāṣika

And include me in the rank of those for whom You have made obligatory the dwelling in the abode of Your honor, together with Your chosen ones and the people of Your special favor,

bijazīli mawāhibika fī darajāti jannātika maʿa lladhīna anʿamta ʿalayhim mina n-nabiyyīna waṣ-ṣiddīqīna wash-shuhadā'i waṣ-ṣāliḥīna

with Your abundant gifts in the degrees of Your gardens, along with those upon whom You have bestowed favor — the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous.

    wa ḥasuna ulā'ika rafīqan

And excellent are they as companions!

wa mā ftaraḍta ʿalayya faḥtamilhu ʿannī ilā man awjabta ḥuqūqahu mina l-ābā'i wal-ummahāti wal-ikhwati wal-akhawāti

And whatever You have made obligatory upon me, bear it on my behalf toward those whose rights You have made obligatory — the fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters —

waghfir lī wa lahum maʿa l-mu'minīna wal-mu'mināti innaka qarībun mujībun wāsiʿu l-barakāti

and forgive me and them, along with the believing men and women; indeed, You are Near, Responsive, Vast in blessings.

wa dhālika ʿalayka yasīrun yā arḥama r-rāḥimīna. wa ṣalla llāhu ʿalā muḥammadin in-nabiyyi wa ālihi wa sallama taslīman

And that is easy for You, O Most Merciful of the merciful. And may Allah bless Muhammad the Prophet and his Household, and grant them abundant peace.
