Community Guidelines

Last updated: October 14, 2026

Sadaat helps the community find majalis, mehfils, juloos, dars and other gatherings. These guidelines keep that space accurate, respectful and safe for everyone — including families and children who use the app. They are part of our Terms of Use.

1. What these guidelines cover

Everything users add to Sadaat: events (title, description, instructions, poster, place, map pin, contact numbers and video or live-stream links) and pages for imambargahs, masjids, anjumans and scholars (name, description, logo, cover image, address and contacts). They apply whether content is waiting for review or already published, and to posts from Verified Members too.

2. What you can post

  • Religious gatherings and events: majalis, mehfils, juloos, dars and lectures, Quran and dua programmes, commemorations of the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.), and similar community events.
  • Live streams and recordings of such gatherings, through a YouTube link. Video posts, and video links added to an event during or after it, are a Verified Member feature; any event may give a link where people join it online. Sadaat never hosts the videos themselves.
  • Pages for real imambargahs, masajid, anjumans, centres and scholars that you represent.

3. Keep it accurate

  • Give the correct date, time, place and host. Use a map pin only for the real venue.
  • Post each event once. For a series of days (such as an Ashra) or a gathering that repeats every week, use the repeat option instead of posting copies.
  • Update the event if details change, and cancel or delete it if it will not take place.
  • Choose the event type that fits, and keep promotional claims honest.

4. What is not allowed

  • Hate speech — attacking or demeaning people for their religion, sect, ethnicity, nationality, caste, gender, disability or any similar characteristic.
  • Sectarian incitement — content that insults or incites hostility against any school of thought, sect or faith community, or their revered personalities.
  • Harassment and bullying — threats, intimidation, insults, or targeting a person.
  • Violence and extremism — threats or calls to violence, glorification of violence or terrorism, or support for banned organisations.
  • Sexual content — nudity, sexually explicit or suggestive material of any kind.
  • Scams and fraud — fake events, fake fundraising or donation requests, deceptive offers, phishing or misleading links.
  • Other people's private information — phone numbers, addresses or photos of people who have not agreed to it (see section 5).
  • Spam and duplicates — repeated or near-identical events, unrelated advertising, or content posted only to drive traffic elsewhere.
  • Copyrighted media without permission — see section 6.
  • Impersonation — pretending to be another person, scholar, organisation or Sadaat itself.
  • Illegal content or activity under the laws of Pakistan or where the event takes place, including the sale of illegal goods or services.

5. Phone numbers and privacy

Add only your own numbers or numbers whose owners have agreed to be contacted about the event. A number is public only when you switch on “Show publicly”; otherwise only you and our moderation team can see it. Never post someone else's private number, address or photo without their consent.

6. Images, videos and copyright

Use posters, logos and photos you made or have permission to use, and link only to videos you are allowed to share. Do not post photos of children without their parent's or guardian's permission. Rights holders who believe their work is used without permission can email us and we will review it promptly.

7. Pages

Every account has a personal page. Create or claim another page only for an imambargah, masjid, anjuman or scholar you represent. New pages and claims are reviewed before they appear. The verified badge is an approved, paid subscription for one page; posts of a verified page are published at once, which does not place the page above these guidelines: reported posts put its new posts under review, and the badge can be removed for breaking them, with the reason sent to the owner. Sadaat does not allow ratings or reviews of imambargahs or scholars.

8. Zero tolerance for child abuse

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content that sexualises, exploits or endangers children. Such content is removed, the account is terminated, and we report it to the relevant authorities. See our Child Safety Standards.

9. Reporting content

  • In the app: open the event and use Report. This prepares an email to our team with the event's reference already filled in — add what is wrong and send it.
  • By email: write to support@sadaat.pk with a description and, if you can, the name of the event or page and a screenshot.

Our team reviews every report within 24 hours and removes content that breaks these guidelines. We do not tell the person you reported who made the report. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

10. How we enforce

Every post and every new or claimed page is reviewed by our team before it is published, including posts from Verified Members. When content breaks these guidelines we may, depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before:

  • reject it, or remove it after publication;
  • edit obvious errors (for example a wrong event type) or ask you to correct it;
  • remove a package or a verified badge;
  • suspend the account, which stops it from posting or managing events and pages;
  • permanently ban the account for serious or repeated violations;
  • report illegal content to law enforcement and cooperate with lawful requests.

Packages or membership on content removed for breaking these guidelines are not refunded or transferred by Sadaat (see Payments & Refunds).

11. Appeals

If you think we made a mistake, email support@sadaat.pk from your account's email address with the details. We will review the decision and reply.
